Piano Regulation and Voicing
- Why ? Depending on your piano it many have as many as 10,000 parts.
Years of normal playing , constant changes in the weather and aging causes parts to change, wear out and break.
The motor of your piano is the piano action. It is what connects the player to the piano. If the piano is unable to function properly it can lead to a variety of problems that hinder the player to fully enjoy the playing experience and keep the player from using the full expression abilities of the piano.
REGULATION - can be a simple adjustment or repair, it can readjust an entire section of the action or can be as complicated as a Thorough Regulation which can take a week or more to complete.
VOICING - As a piano is played the hammer that makes contact with the piano strings becomes worn with each blow. Voicing is a process that changes the tone the hammer makes when played. A very bright and harsh tone quality can be made rich and mellow. As well, a dark and muddy sounding piano can be voiced to restore the brightness in the tone.
